    So stop trying to live, and live

    Stop trying to walk, and fly

You can't live a righteous life

You're too weak to face this strife

You fight a war that can't be won

But what you cannot do, Christ has done

    Instead of striving in vain, rest and peace

    Instead of bondage to sin, you find release

    So stop trying to live, and live

    Stop trying to walk, and fly

But gives us neither feet nor hands.

Far better news the Gospel brings:

It bids us fly   and gives us wings.Ó
